Christmas is almost here and I wonder what Shakes & Fidget will do on Christmas Day...will they celebrate it like we do? Or will they kill monsters as usual? Or celebrate it in the dungeons peacefully? It's up to your imagination in this community contest.

Your entry should be a short story. Not just 1-2 sentences but the minimum is 70 words. Of course you can write more.

First prize: 150 mushrooms
Second prize: 100 mushrooms
Third prize: 50 mushrooms

Nikalien's entry:

Sit down boy, it’s getting late and you got to sleep,
Someone’s going to visit us tonight,
and you need to be asleep,
so let me tell you a story, I know it’s what you want, right?
Yes yes, I love your stories,
I love the plot and how they rhyme!

Alright kid, so...once upon a time …
In a cold day of December, Shake’s is getting dressed
and Fidget’s brushing his teeth,
both of them are quite stressed …
Wait, grandpa, I thought S&F was just a myth?
Patience kiddo, and you will realize,
that magic does exist,
maybe you won’t see it with your eyes,
or maybe it’s just hiding in the mist.
Let’s continue with our story…
As time goes by, Shakes and Fidget have to rush and get every gift,
so they decided it’s time to drop by the local shops.
Off they go, using their wild blue tigers as a lift,
but didn’t cross speed limits to avoid any cops.
Shopping’s done and now back home,
they got to cook for tonight
but then they realize, they’re missing something…
and it just didn’t seem right!
So they started running to the groceries store,
They made it just in time, they both were very hasty,
they had to buy mushrooms, and nothing more,
cause it’s a known fact people find them tasty!
Everything seems ready and they just cannot wait,,
it has to be their fate…
Hey… you still following me kid?

…ZzZzZz….

Ah, it looks like you’re asleep…
and kid, you’re so sweet..
You’ll never be alone, my word I shall keep!
Anyway, I can now say mission complete!


10 minutes earlier…

“Hey pssst! Yes! You!
I know of something you can do.
It’s Christmas and there’s a boy all alone,
go and stay with him until he falls asleep,
only then can you go on,
and come back here for your tip.”

Now…
“It’s fine, you don’t have to buy me a beer at the bar,
And I do not want any reward,
because you made me realize how special Christmas are,
all I want is people to be happy and for that I’ll fight-you got my word!”

As Shakes and Fidget meet later that day…
“What’s up Shakes, I got your mail, what do you have to say?”
“Well, my old friend. No more killing monsters, no more fighting others during this time of the year!
Let’s take away all the hatred and fear!”

It was Christmas at Shakes & Fidget’s town and Shakes and Fidget were talking about how they are going to celebrate their holidays.

S: I have a great idea Fidget!!!
F: I hope it won’t be like last year  … I think that we will never forget that pain, I think that it still hurts.
S: No, No this year my idea is just perfect.
F: OK, I’m ready to hear it.
S: So here it is!!! …

And so Fidget accepted Shakes great idea. The idea is to go and find Santa, which both Shakes & Fidget heard rumors about Christmas dungeons. These rumors say that the person who will find Santa will also find some very special dungeons. They decided to start from the tavern have a drink and think where to search for him. There everybody greeted them and the barman treated them a drink. In the tavern a guy in a cowl spotted them and told them to come closer. Here is the conversation:

Guy: Hey you! Do you think you can take a special quest?
S: We already have a quest, it’s about Santa.
Guy: Ha! Thought so :]
S&F: What do you mean, did you know what we are up to?
Guy: No, I just guess it. Every year this day a lot of adventurers are trying to find Santa, but they all fail. I’m not an exception, I would do it myself but you know I sprained my ankle.
F: Well do you know where we can find him?
Guy: Of course…

The mysterious guy gave the instructions of how to find Santa. They finally found him but it took them 2 days to do so. Here is what happened in those 2 days:
They were searching with intense but without any good results. But our adventurers on Christmas day got their Christmas presents of course, which were a map and a key. They were feeling happiness and thought that luck is with them. After some training they followed that map. They followed it until the end. With disappointment the only thing they could see was an enormous tree. They tried to find anything special on that tree. So while Fidget was using some spells Shakes was searching for any hidden spots. With Fidget’s magic a small key hole appeared on the tree! Shakes inserted the key they got as present. They both moved a step back, as the tree was shaking. Then Santa jumped out of the top:
He congratulated them and told them to follow him. He leaded them to a Gate with the title “The Christmas hell”. The Santa said that the dungeon had this name because the monsters there were very strong. With proud S&F entered the gate. Here is what they battled with:

After quite a long time and many hard battles, they finally beated every monster. They got some very good epic items, but the epicest was the epic of the boss: For Shakes “The Sharp candy sword of Santa” and for Fidget “The Christmas candy stick of the best magician”. They got their honor to maximum and everybody was showing respect to them.
