    Learned in the German forums that Armor Reduction does not count against mages.

    It would still be an official statement interesting. My feeling tells me that nothing has changed when both have the Gladiator at 15. Because if it were so, I would not just like the first hit 240 million damage, but over 300 million And that seems to me very far-fetched

      The devs just said the gladiator bonus is neglected if both players have the same bonus.

            Here's another one for you



            Max damage is 33,069,609

            Old Max Crit should be 33,069,609 * 2 = 66,139,218 * 1.80 = 119,050,592
            New Max Crit should be 33,069,609 * 2 = 66,139,218 * 1.05 = 69,446,179

            Here's the result:



            In this case I did not even include the Armor Reduction of 10% because I'm not sure if it is applicable - but that would result in a lower overall crit anyway

            You can see that the damage done in round 1 is within the Gladiator Bonus range but NOT WITHIN the "new update" calculations which remove the Gladiator Bonus.

            Feel free to check yourself as the International Hall of Fame will not update for another 23 hours.

              It has been brought to my attention that there is an "Anger Bonus".

              Originally I thought this would have started in Round 2 but I'm being told it starts in Round 1.

              Basically it is this:

              Round 1a - Toon A First Strike = 100%
              Round 1b - Toon B First Strike + 40% = 140%
              Round 2a - 1a + 40% = 140%
              Round 2b - 1b + 40% = 180%
              Round 3a - 2a + 40% = 180%
              Round 3b - 2b + 40% = 220%
              Round 4a - 3a + 40% = 220%
              Round 4b - 4a + 40% = 260%

              I'm also being told the armor bonus does apply (only time it doesn't is when the attacker is a mage).

              There is also the defender's dexterity defense which means an even lower damage value but I won't calculate it (you'll see why below)

              New Max Crit should be 33,069,609 * 2 [crit] = 66,139,218 * 1.05 [sword of vengenace] = 69,446,179 * 1.4 [Round 1b Anger] = 97,224,651 * .9 [10% Armor Reduction] = 87,502,186

              Even WITHOUT the armor reduction .... the damage is still too high

                I get your point but I need more proof.

                Sersemina vs. Galileo: was it really the first hit? Because Sersemina is already wounded when she striked Galileo.

                Yes, you deal more damage each round, anger builds up...otherwise fights would take forever, especially for low levels.

                Please check your very first hit and how much damage you deal. If it is too high, please take a screenshot or keep the replay in your inbox so I can check it out.

                  Sure thing (I'm leaving out Mage's Dexterity Defense because it won't matter here, it would just slightly lower the max damage)

                  29,656,044 * 2 = 59,312,088 * 1.05 = 62,277,692 * .9 = 56,049,923

                  Here is Sersemina's Damage:



                  In this case, Sersemina's 1st attack is considered Round 1b aka 140% so:
                  56,049,923 * 1.4 = 78,469,892

                  So, Sersemina's damage is within range (this is a good thing).

                  Now, let's look at Deraphin's Stats:



                  His Max Crit Damage (Round 1a) against mages is:
                  33,069,609 * 2 = 66,139,218 * 1.05 = 69,446,179 * .9 = 62,501,561

                  Here is Deraphin's Damage:



                  In this case, Deraphin's 1st attack is considered Round 1b aka 140% so:
                  62,501,561 * 1.4 = 87,502,185

                  So, Deraphin's damage is out of range (this is a bad thing)

                  This means there are other factors involved which either #1 we're not aware of for damage calculations or #2 the Gladiator Bonus is still in effect

                  I did some deep searching of the German Forums and they spent a long time calculating battles to come to the conclusion of the "anger bonus" and got the math right, so I don't think its #1

                    Leander, that was my first hit. My opponent striked first and he did a 153mln crit. Then in the first round I did 68mln crit.

                    BMWGuinness, I haven't heard of rounds 1a and 1b, I think in the first round both players have no bonus damage. The bonus comes at round 2, 3 and so on. I think it was 20-30% bonus per round, but 40% just because you start second sounds a bit too much.


                    ps. Sersemina sounds like a she, but last time I checked it's still a he

                      @BMWGuiness The first round does not have a rage bonus. It is only applied from the second round on.

                              Max Crit without Gladiator

                              50,321,980 * 2 = 100,643,960 * 1.05 = 105,676,158

                              Max Crit without Gladiator + 40% Rage (should NOT be applicable for Round 1)

                              50,321,980 * 2 = 100,643,960 * 1.05 = 105,676,158 * 1.4 = 147,946,621

                              1st Round result:
                              Scio Rank 91 vs HarryPotter Rank 92



                              So, this is way too high for Round 1 Max Crit without the Gladiator Bonus but it falls within range for Round 1 Max Crit with the Gladiator Bonus.

                                @BMW The German community manager confirmed that the rage bonus starts in the first round, 2nd hit.

                                Player 1 strikes without a bonus
                                Player 2 strikes with rage bonus
