The client is new. Everything's sent to the server stays the same so both versions will work.

No, we have to limit reports because we cannot handle a ton of them by thousands of players on all servers. Where to start an open beta? Of course from the beginning of the game which is level 1. Don't worry, all part of the game will be tested in open beta later on.
Besides, it's not about new players per se, it is not a "we want to attract new players". Moreover, many players have an "old" high-level account but start on new servers too...for competition, to experiment, to reach a certain goal in a month etc. |
I hope that's not the approach Playa has been using/wants to keep using on new contents ::/: I understand in here (beta testers), but not on other updates.

I do understand the idea behind getting feedback from all servers being too much. On the other hand, I do not understand the approach to beta testing. You have tools that have already been developed which would allow for more efficient testing yet you choose not to use them.
Open beta test server -> Change it to a speed server -> On character creation give X amount mushrooms for testing -> ??? -> Profit -> Close the server The approach used currently makes it so that you will get to a higher level content testing, but much later and with much less "testers" resulting in a worse experience for people playing your game for years. Therefore, certainly, there will be a rare issue affecting the higher level content or a high percentage of completion of the content overall that could've been avoided given the correct approach. |
Will the new client still save the password in plaintext in the localstorage of the browser or are you guys going to improve that system?
