Not true for int servers, you can totally aim on the long term, they aren't "empty" but yes a part of it goes on next ones to just feed playa and destroy the game (they are foolish to me :) )

You can upgrade your bag space and it's not even "hard" having 15-20spots, enough for a quest gear+gems+epics for aura.
The time machine is perfect like this in my opinion its useless to put fruits...
