In december will start the search for winter pets.
That means: Water #8 Earth #8 Shadow #8 Fire #9 We have also to consider: Light #16 (Christmas' Event) Fire #18 (New Year's Event) Could I suggest to Playa to do a complete review of these pets so that they ensure that everything is working fine and there will be no surprises at the last moment? Prevention is better than cure ![]() |

It seems that not even warn serves to prevent errors. Unbelievable...

I have updated the Pet Guide.
Pet corrections: Light pet #16 can be found in Northrunt all December long (just like the Christmas epics) Shadow pet #8 can be found on Skull Island on winter days.

At the end of the months we will have to find:
Fire #18 (New Year's Event) And in January 13th there's a time window also for Shadow #18 (Friday 13) Please, PLEASE, could someone ask to Playa to check this 2 pets BEFORE the real event? PLEASE. The time window are 2 days for the first and 1 ONLY 1 day for the second. They REALLY MUST NOT HAVE A BUG. It's a simple check. PLEASE. |

it really is so EMBARRASSINGLY simple to setup a test environment for this, that it will be UNACCEPTABLE to AGAIN have issues. I mean really - just rent a virtual server for 5$/mo, set it up with the "wrong" date, and play through with unlimited shrooms. It will stupidly slow, but it will work. Want to do it properly? Rent an AWS instance with proper specs for an hour! Or a droplet, linode, or any other similar setup! That's about an hour for setup (I assume you have a skilled person for this, and since you spin up worlds every so often the process is likely just installing an image taking 10 minutes), and about 10 minutes to test for each date. If you feel it's too much stress for your developers to spend 10 more minutes around the game, allow "beta" testers or moderators to login with 100000 shrooms - they'll do that for you for free.

Because it is required for "proper" testing.
What is "proper" testing? In the player settings, allow select people (eg via code sent in email or forum pm) to copy over their character onto a test server for a specific event (eg with the date set to January 13th ). There, the tester will have to go through their thirst in order to see whether the test is successful or not. In the test server, there should be a way to report back to the developers ( eg replace Mail button with Report, which opens a report form ). You cannot expect a tester to spend 320 thirst while waiting for quests to finish though! So just copy the character over with 1000 shrooms, which is more than enough for test purposes. And once the test is over (eg an hour after the copy, or when results are sent back), delete the character from the test server. Possibly award some shrooms to their actual account for the help (assuming they completed the result form). If you have 100 people do this, and >90 report that they achieved the task being tested, then it's fine (for one-day pets it should be 100% for 100 thirst imo though). An alternative to shrooms given, would be to make all quests complete instantly, but I think that would take more tinkering with the code than the above described method.
