Leander,
Are there any changes to to the Fortress? Increased Levels? Or is this purely new content (aside from a few bug fixes)? |

The Underworld is a completely new building and not related to the fortress. The fortress is not affected by the update...so the level cap stays the same.

If you play on a relatively inactive server, how will other heroes levels increase if they do not play the Underworld?
If you are chosen as a hero in someone else's Underworld and defeat them, does your hero level increase? |

Levels aren't increased. You pick heroes as targets to gain Souls...and every time you defeat a hero, the required level increases by 1. However, the hero himself/herself is NOT touched, not affected!
Example: to gain maximum Souls, you need to defeat a level 10 hero. You win! next, you need to defeat a level 11 hero. Then 12, 13 etc. It is only a requirement whom to defeat next for maximum Soul gain. Neither the other hero nor your hero is affected. The only relation between Underworld and your hero is that you get more gold (Gold Pit), you can consume unused Thirst (Time Machine) and the Gladiator Trainer boosts the criticial damage of your Tower followers, your pets and your character. Please read the new manual entry! ![]()

Everything is explained in the manual!
![]() How to reap them Souls! You can lure up to 5 clueless heroes into your Underworld every day. Leave the dirty work to your army of Goblins, a Troll and the Keeper. Defeat heroes and reap their Souls! Lure a hero by clicking on "Find hero...". Choose your victim in the Hall of Fame and click the sword icon to start the fight. The game automatically picks a hero whose level is required for maximum Soul gain. If your army wins, every defeated hero increases the required hero level by 1. If your army loses, the level decreases by 5. Defeating higher levels does not give you more Souls but defeating lower levels decreases the amount of Souls gained. You will also get more Souls by upgrading your Torture Chamber. Hint: The hero does not lose Souls or units in his/her Underworld! Your targets are passive! It's only something you need to defeat but the heroes themselves are not affected! Your toon stays the same if somebody else attacks it in his/her Underworld! You don't even notice! ============ Time Machine (max. level 15): Time machines don't have to be blue. This one lets you consume your unused Thirst for Adventure. It does not drink beer though. The higher the Time Machine's upgrade level, the more unused Thirst it can store. Moreover, the Time Machine produces a bonus of 1 Thirst per upgrade level. All stored and produced Thirst can used be after midnight. Hint: Time Machine quests only give you gold and XP. Hint: Weekend events don't have an effect on the Time Machine!

Yes, a level 15 Time Machine lets you do tavern quests for 320 Thirst plus Time Machine quests for 15 Thirst...so the new maximum will be 335. However, only normal tavern quests give you items, mushrooms and other rewards. Time Machine quests only give you gold and XP. The rewards are based on your toon's average gold and XP rewards. You cannot pick Time Machine quests. You only start the machine, fight and get your reward. The rewards might change though...Playa's talking about it right now.
